DESCRIPTION - TANGA TANZANIA:-
Tanga town (dubbed “Tanga Raha” by the locals) is an
historic old town located on the coast of Northern Tanzania a long Indian Ocean coastline. It is surrounded by sheltered bays, lagoons, lush mangrove and pristine semi-arid forests. Tanga is Tanzania’s second largest seaport and fourth largest town behind Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Arusha. It is the administrative headquarters of Tanga Region and main link between northern Tanzania and Indian Ocean.

Tanga was established as a center of colonial administration in early 20th century and was a major stopping point for ivory and slave trade caravans enroute to Central Africa.

It is a pleasant, safe and friendly place for adventure travellers with a cool state of relaxation, stunning diverse attractions, magnificent landscape, unique culture and reserved people. It has a semi-colonial atmosphere and wide streets with several hotels and eateries.

Tourist attractions in Tanga include:- Amboni Caves; Galanos hot springs; Magoroto Forest; Saadani National Park; European cemetery; Toten Island; Urithi Tanga Museum; Tanga War Memorials; Ndumi Village defense works; Mwarongo sand beaches and protected coastal mangroves; Tanga cultural heritage; Usambara Mountains and Pangani beach.
