Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, located about 6–7 hours’ drive from Nairobi along the Mombasa highway near Voi, is a beautiful private reserve nestled at the foot of the scenic Taita Hills. The sanctuary features rolling hills, wooded grasslands, and waterholes that attract a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, buffalo, and giraffes, offering excellent game viewing in a more intimate setting. Rich in history, the area was also a key battleground during World War I, with remnants and memorials still visible, making it a unique blend of wildlife, landscape, and heritage for Kenyan residents to explore.
